DESCRIPTION:Opening reception Saturday\, December 6 from 12-2pm to coincide with Contoocook’s Starry\, Starry Weekend. \nBrenda will be exhibiting her mixed-media works “Rest” and “Sudden Glory” as well as her digital art prints and a variety of totes and scarves from her “Heart Full of Color” wearable art collection.  The Winter Members Show & Sale is one of our most popular shows of the year. It’s not only an ideal holiday shopping opportunity—it’s a way to support local art and artists! More than 50 artist members from towns throughout New Hampshire display their best work in a range of genres and mediums. You’ll find oil\, acrylic\, pastel\, and water color paintings; ceramics\, fiber art\, glass\, wood\, prints\, jewelry\, prints\, mixed media\, and more. \nEnjoy the festive spirit by shopping during Starry\, Starry Weekend\, when the town is decorated for the holidays. Gallery hours are extended as we join other village stores and pop-up shops in the event. Regular gallery hours are Thursday-Sunday 12-4 p.m. Special extended hours to coincide with Starry\, Starry Weekend activities are Friday Dec. 5 and Saturday Dec. 6 from 10:00 a.m.- 8 p.m. and Sunday Dec. 7 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

SUMMARY:Glimpse Gallery Featured Artists Show
DESCRIPTION:A Gallery’s Growth\nGlimpse in Concord readies new show \nBy Michael Witthaus\nmwitthaus@hippopress.com \nFor its inaugural show in February 2024\, Glimpse Gallery featured four artists hailing from the South\, along with two New Hampshire painters and another from Vermont. Glimpse owner Meme Exum always intended for the space\, tucked down an alley by the Capitol Building in Concord\, to reflect her home region\, but knew it would take time.   A little over a year later the seeds Exum and curator Christine Landry-Boullion planted to entice New England artists and buyers to Glimpse are coming to fruition. \n“The trajectory’s been just straight up\, positive\, wonderful\,” Exum said recently. “I now have a lot of folks submitting their work\, and it’s giving me more flexibility with how I can create the shows.” \nThe choice provided by a deep well of talent allows for shows weighted between up-and-comers and established artists alike. It also allows for thematic balance\, as with an upcoming exhibit of seven New England artists. \nBrenda Wilbert is both a mixed media and fine art digital artist. “A Moment of Bliss\,” a treated photograph of a woman in a river drinking water from her hand\, is an example of the latter. Her riotous collages employ a wide range of textures and colors\, from metallic pen lines to painted fabric\, watercolors and ink to stunning effect.
